Fresh Cut Flowers Delivered from Sydney Flowers Express

Who doesn’t love the smell and sight of gorgeous flowers? Inspired by my work colleague Nicole, I too have always had a fascination with flowers. She’s recently been enrolled in a floristry course for a handful of months, and I truly love seeing her flower creations come to life through her photography. A few years ago, I participated in a floristry one day workshop at The Bloom Room, and loved it quite a lot. That said, this year has been a difficult year for many, including myself – we’ve been through a very different 2020, which has continued into 2021. So, when the notion of Mother’s Day came up this year, I thought I’d do something that truly brings me joy – and that is preparing my own flowers for both my mum and my sister. These two ladies mean the world to me, and I thought I’d expand on a hobby that I do every now and then, and make them something amazing! I was looking for fresh cut flowers available in Sydney – …

Residential Tree Hedging Services in Sydney’s north-west with Modern Outdoors

Garden maintenance is difficult when you usually have a busy week, let alone when your trees are about 4-5 metres each in height. I have to admit, we were ignoring it for a while, until one afternoon we were thinking about how big our trees really were – and how they’re growing slightly out of control too that is. I was actually struggling to find a company online that would happily quote and trim our large-ish Leighton Green trees situated in our backyard. It may have been a job too fiddly for some (in comparison to larger project jobs), or they were simply too busy. Our Leighton Greens hadn’t been shaped since they were first planted, so it was about 4-years worth of growth, and they were long overdue for a haircut. Asking around for a good hedging company, our neighbour Wendy recommended us to use Modern Outdoors. I am always a person for a good recommendation and as long as the initial service and communication feels right, I’m more than happy to give anyone …

Pop Up Picnic Hampers near Sydney CBD, with Delivery

A great way to organise getting together with family and friends is at a park with a well packed lunch. In light of COVID-19 regulations currently in place, sometimes you hesitate on what’s considered a safe option to come together with others, but a pre-made picnic hamper is the perfect idea, without having to organise the food preparation yourself. As a group of four, we placed an order with Pop Up Picnics for two-sets of the Pop Up Picnic ‘hampers for pairs’, available for pick-up from their head office location in Annandale, Sydney. Or, for an additional AU$20, the picnic hampers could be delivered within a 7km radius from Annandale, which is what we opted to do instead. Delivered on-time and as expected, all picnic inclusions arrived in two large boxes. At the time, we hadn’t read the instructions properly, so we packed our own picnic rugs. But little did we know, everything was already included in the box – and I mean everything. Settling under a large shady tree, we placed our own blankets …

Jägerstube Essentials Market Day now in Schofields

Did someone say European markets? I’m in. Through the recommendation of a neighbour who recently visited the new Jagerstube Bavarian Restaurant, I was searching their Facebook page and noticed upcoming pop-up markets also advertised. Having recently relocated from Cabramatta to Sydney’s north-west in Schofields, the new Jagerstube Essentials Market Days are now in the area too, showcasing European food suppliers and their local delicacies & fresh foods available for purchase. It was their first opening at Schofields, and with only a handful of vendors – about 10 or so – you could comfortably walk around and peruse these markets within about 20-minutes. I first swooped into the line of homemade jars of delicious goodness by Gourmet Favours. There was a variety of honeys, jams, marmalades, pestos and chutneys to choose from that I was having difficulty deciding what to choose. So I asked the seller for a recommendation.. and what a win. Imagine crackers, cheese, and a thin spread of olive tapenade #mmm #yum.. coupled with an afternoon beverage.. ahh, yes please. I walked away …

Lot 19 Cafe and Coffee Shop, Rushcutters Bay

Tucked between high rise apartment blocks and the leafy suburban homes of Rushcutters Bay, is the French-inspired Lot 19 Cafe. Before visiting, I checked their Google rating and at the time of writing this post, with an astounding 4.7-stars (out of 5) by more than 100+ reviews, I knew it surely must be a hidden gem local. From the moment we walked up to peruse the main menu visible from the kerb, we were greeted by a warm and friendly staffer offering a detailed run down of what to try. We mentioned we hadn’t been here before, and he was more than happy to assist with any of our questions. Think light breakfast and brunch menu items such as Le Vert (avocado smash on white sourdough) from AU$8, Le Bourgeois (bacon and egg wrap) from AU$10, or a handful of delicious, warm La Crepes starting from AU$7 each. Get ready to put on your best french accent when pronouncing each of these whilst ordering.. They also have a range of beverages available; your choice of …
