The plan was to meet with Kevin this weekend approaching.
However, he called in advance to advise of a price increase planned with Eden Brae homes (somewhat expected every three months) due to the rising costs to build. The house base package price was to increase an additional AU$3,000 – $5,000.
We were ready to finalise our selected home. A copious amount of time was spent deciding on the type- and layout we were happy with. There were a number of floor plans and home designs which had great qualities, yet we wished we could modify a few and merge them into one so our dream home had all the features that we wanted.
Eden Brae does allow you to move walls, remove cladding from the exterior and make internal changes – where structurally permitted. Yes, it does cost more to do this, but it’s good to know they are flexible to suit our personal check-boxes for what we wanted.
That said, we agreed to the AU$750 non-refundable deposit of the Eden Brae Cremorne 28 Lifestyle Series, essentially securing the current pricing and promotions. We had plans to pay the initial deposit anyway, so it was not as though we were still considering our options.
This deposit also initiated the process for a soil test, surveys and contour plan – to note, the site costs are in addition to the house base package price.
Our promotion offers include four AU$1,000 upgrade options; Caesar Stone bench tops in kitchen and bathrooms, ducted reverse air-conditioning, structural offerings (higher ceilings etc.) and roof upgrade. As the start to many upgrades and optional extras, these are all optional, so you don’t need to agree to these promotions if you don’t want to purchase them.
