Wild Pear Cafe has been on my breakfast bucket list for quite some time – I have a growing list of restaurants people recommend, so I’m slowly ticking them off. Firstly, you can make a reservation via text – yes, you read right – and with such prompt replies, I received a confirmation in under 4-minutes, how good is that?!
Located on Old Northern Road in Dural, Wild Pear Cafe is less than a 30-minute drive from the north-west. Whilst driving on this road, keep an eye out for the cafe signage as it’s tucked away from immediate street view and adjoins a pottery yard and plant nursery. Parking is available on-site, both in-front of the cafe and at the rear of the nursery.
What I love the most is Wild Pear’s friendly staff, such a bubbly greeting on arrival and excellent service throughout. Their breakfasts are beautifully presented – fresh, local ingredients packed full of flavour. If your appetite is calling you, order Wild Pear’s Big Breakfast (AU$23.90); fried eggs, chorizo, bacon, cherry tomatoes, mushroom and a hash brown.
My favourite between the two though is the Grilled Broccolini (AU$22.90); poached eggs, avocado, cherry tomatoes, harissa aioli and dukkah – absolutely delicious and I highly recommend.
There are plenty of other menu items available including some with a mediterranean twist; Shakshuka, Roasted Portobello Mushroom Stack, Sweet Pea Falafel, Banana & Pineapple Rum Compote Pancakes, and more. So be prepared to make that difficult menu decision whilst also having #fomo, wondering what the table next to you is eating. The wait time was less than 20-minutes for meal preparation and with the relaxing outlook in front and a coffee in hand, it passes much faster than you think.
Indoor and outdoor seating is available, so if you’re planning to book ahead, I’d suggest to request the outdoor deck and appreciate its gorgeous view. Also try to arrive earlier than late. It’s one of many very popular cafes in Dural, and the seats fill up quickly as the morning progresses – so you may be caught in the queue waiting.
Our next visit will be to try their lunch menu – if breakfast was anything to go by, I can’t wait.
