Dog Friendly Stay in Sydney’s South Coast, Gerringong

I’m always on the lookout for pet friendly accommodation in Sydney as I love bringing Kenji with me wherever I go. For the next road trip, we’re met with a beautiful dog friendly home stay at Werri Cosy on the south coast of NSW, in Gerringong. This is such a brilliant and affordable find, a private 2-bedroom home located in a quiet, suburban leafy street, less than a 500m walk from Werri Beach. I’m going to confess, this area is a little hilly on foot, so a walk to the beach might feel like a slightly longer than expected. The house itself has a fenced front and back yard. We mainly used the front yard for our dog, however both yards are accessible if required. At the front of the house, there’s a gated car park area which would only fit a small hatchback. That said, we preferred to keep our car on the street to give our dog more area to roam. The front of this home was such a peaceful spot to relax …

Water View Stay with Southbound Escapes at the Wharf, Narooma

Travelling to the Eurobodalla region and looking for the perfect coastal accommodation? Most people would easily recognise Batemans Bay, however if you opt to travel a little further south, you’ll pass through Moruya and discover the beautiful seaside town of Narooma. From Sydney, Narooma is only a 4 1/2 hour scenic drive along the Princes Highway and the A1, or from Canberra, it’s just shy of a 3 hour drive. Why would you stay in Narooma over all other coastal towns you ask? Did you know you could swim with seals off the coast of Montague Island, near Narooma? There’s also an abundance of outdoor activities including cycleways, rainforest walks and a nearby drive to the heritage village of Tilba Tilba, which is the gateway to the Gulaga Mountain (Mount Dromedary) Walk. Narooma reminds me of what Byron Bay use to be, years ago before the tourism really kicked into overdrive – a chillaxed waterfront town, local markets held on weekends, friendly people always up for a chat and no one ever in a rush. …

Must stay Airbnb: Vanam Retreat, Blue Mountains

For anyone planning a trip to the Blue Mountains, look no further as Vanam Retreat is the perfect accommodation and getaway for your stay. I had this Airbnb listing saved for quite sometime. It hadn’t always worked out in terms of our availability and theirs, so when the stars aligned, I booked it in without hesitation – and boy, was it even better than the pictures could describe. This beautiful, architecturally designed property is also home to a yoga and meditation retreat, which is why at times, there may be limited availability. That said when you do secure a stay, you’ll fall in love with this Airbnb as much as I did, with all intentions of returning again. Up to three private guest rooms can be booked in the main house whilst the owners (Andy & Jeff) reside in a separate property only a few steps away. These rooms include the Garden Suite, Valley View Suite or the Sunset Suite. I’d highly recommend booking the Sunset Suite, but to be completely honest, any room at …

Bannisters Port Stephens Dog Friendly Weekend Away

When a planned getaway includes bringing your pooch, hands down one of the best Sydney road trips is the coastal drive towards Port Stephens. An added bonus is when you find a hotel which not only incorporates a pet friendly room, but also has pet friendly dining too. Bannisters Port Stephens I’m in love. Upon arrival, we had a warm welcome from Sarah who was very helpful throughout our check-in process. The parking bays are split between a few levels so if it’s easier, you can drop your bags at the main entrance – plus a pooch in my instance – and the team will happily arrange complimentary valet parking thereafter. Bringing a pooch with you on your travels doesn’t always makes things easy, but the team here – with a shout out to James too – have the hospitality down pat. When you find a dog friendly hotel like this, you know you’ll be back again without hesitation. Let me be completely honest. If you’re after 5-star luxury, marble finishes, butler service and more, …

Pet Friendly Stay At The Felix Hotel, Mascot near Sydney Airport

(Edit: Rebranded to Citadines Connect Sydney Airport, May 2019) As my husband was attending an evening engagement on the inner fringe of Sydney’s CBD, I thought I’d save him the late night drive home and also stay in town with our pooch. In search for pet friendly accommodation within close proximity to the city, I stumbled across The Felix Hotel, by 8Hotels. Less than a 15-minute walk to Mascot train station and just two train stops from Sydney’s Central Station (the main interchange for other trains, buses and light rail services), The Felix Hotel was what I was looking for. If you’re only staying in Sydney for a brief period, this hotel is quite affordable and is also a short 10-minute walk to the Sydney Domestic Airport. What I love about The Felix Hotel is that its location is somewhat central, its interiors are fairly new and the overall stay is quite unique. It features Sydney’s only hotel rooftop cinema, it’s close to both the Sydney Domestic Airport and Sydney city where you can duck …
