The Oberoi Beach Resort Mauritius: Luxury Pavilion Accommodation

(Edit: Stay was pre- COVID-19 lockdown) The Luxury Pavilion at The Oberoi Beach Resort Mauritius is a relaxing and spacious hotel stay, featuring a large open plan room with a separate living area and an adjoining outdoor private terrace. At 70sqm in size, it is much bigger than many other international hotel rooms we’ve stayed at and I would love to stay here more frequently.. if only I didn’t live so far away in Australia that is. Upon entering, you’re in awe of the epic water views straight out the glass doors and windows facing the garden. This fills the room with plenty of natural lighting and can be filtered throughout the day using sheer or blockout blinds available on all windows and doors. Expect that relaxing feeling – “ahh.. I’m on holiday” moment whilst staying here. Fitted with modern coastal and natural bamboo furnishings, this pavilion exudes luxury at all corners of the room; soft and cosy bedding, marble bathroom fixtures, spacious living and a private terrace with sun loungers and an outdoor seating area. …

The Oberoi Beach Resort Mauritius Providing Service Excellence

(Edit: Stay was pre- COVID-19 lockdown) Thinking of your next holiday, we couldn’t wait to consider another relaxing island destination.. so why not head to Mauritius? Whilst researching where to stay, we discovered the The Oberoi Beach Resort Mauritius (part of The Oberoi Group) was getting a huge wrap, voted as one of the top 5 Mauritius Trip Advisor ‘Traveller Ranked’ hotels of 2020. The countless positive reviews could not fault what we were about to experience – and I must admit, after our stay, they truly lived up to our expectations.. plus more.  Their impeccable service was superb (not just great) and we genuinely would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a seaside stay in Mauritius. Located in the Indian Ocean and off the coast of Africa, The Oberoi Beach Resort Mauritius is less than a one hour drive from the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport.  Situated on the north-west coast of Turtle Bay in Balaclava, tucked away behind quiet stretches of local roads, The Oberoi Beach Resort Mauritius offers privacy as soon as …

Port Louis Street Food Tour in Mauritius with Taste Buddies

(Edit: Tour was pre- COVID-19 lockdown) If a day tour on Trip Advisor is recommended by “100% of Travellers” who have voted, then your experience must be good. And Taste Buddies, I’m proud to say that your Port Louis Street Food Tour didn’t disappoint. I’ve travelled all over the world and I’m one to love food. I also like to travel off the beaten track every now and then – do what the locals do.. and not necessarily go where a big tour bus tells you to go. This walking tour is my kind of tour.. and more. It’s not only about trying different local cuisines, but your hosts Dada (David) and Adrien teach you about Mauritius’ history and culture too. Make sure you arrive with a near empty stomach, good walking shoes and plenty of questions whilst taking in the sights of Port Louis. I ate a small breakfast before our tour and by the end of it, I was so full I couldn’t finish the remainder of this food safari properly. I was …

Labourdonnais Waterfront Hotel in Port Louis, Mauritius

(Edit: Stay was pre- COVID-19 lockdown) If you’re planning a trip to Mauritius, consider staying in the heart of its capital, Port Louis at the Labourdonnais Waterfront Hotel (part of the Indigo Hotels Group). I cannot fault this hotel’s location. It is right on the waterfront with harbour and marina views all around, and walking distance to most attractions of the city. On arrival, we were met by the lovely Vaishali, who brought us up to our room. She talked us through the features including the minibar fridge being controlled by the swipe card to open. The Classic Room has standard inclusions such as temperature controlled air-conditioning, 55″ flat screen TV and complimentary Wi-Fi in room and throughout the hotel property. It also had a king-sized bed and private balcony with views overlooking the city and marina. I must say, the view from the balcony was absolutely beautiful. It was one of my highlights whilst staying in Port Louis – reminded me of Venice at night. The buzz in Place du Caudan and the buildings …
