Dog Friendly Stay in Sydney’s South Coast, Gerringong

I’m always on the lookout for pet friendly accommodation in Sydney as I love bringing Kenji with me wherever I go. For the next road trip, we’re met with a beautiful dog friendly home stay at Werri Cosy on the south coast of NSW, in Gerringong. This is such a brilliant and affordable find, a private 2-bedroom home located in a quiet, suburban leafy street, less than a 500m walk from Werri Beach. I’m going to confess, this area is a little hilly on foot, so a walk to the beach might feel like a slightly longer than expected. The house itself has a fenced front and back yard. We mainly used the front yard for our dog, however both yards are accessible if required. At the front of the house, there’s a gated car park area which would only fit a small hatchback. That said, we preferred to keep our car on the street to give our dog more area to roam. The front of this home was such a peaceful spot to relax …

Bannisters Port Stephens Dog Friendly Weekend Away

When a planned getaway includes bringing your pooch, hands down one of the best Sydney road trips is the coastal drive towards Port Stephens. An added bonus is when you find a hotel which not only incorporates a pet friendly room, but also has pet friendly dining too. Bannisters Port Stephens I’m in love. Upon arrival, we had a warm welcome from Sarah who was very helpful throughout our check-in process. The parking bays are split between a few levels so if it’s easier, you can drop your bags at the main entrance – plus a pooch in my instance – and the team will happily arrange complimentary valet parking thereafter. Bringing a pooch with you on your travels doesn’t always makes things easy, but the team here – with a shout out to James too – have the hospitality down pat. When you find a dog friendly hotel like this, you know you’ll be back again without hesitation. Let me be completely honest. If you’re after 5-star luxury, marble finishes, butler service and more, …

Pet Friendly Stay At The Felix Hotel, Mascot near Sydney Airport

(Edit: Rebranded to Citadines Connect Sydney Airport, May 2019) As my husband was attending an evening engagement on the inner fringe of Sydney’s CBD, I thought I’d save him the late night drive home and also stay in town with our pooch. In search for pet friendly accommodation within close proximity to the city, I stumbled across The Felix Hotel, by 8Hotels. Less than a 15-minute walk to Mascot train station and just two train stops from Sydney’s Central Station (the main interchange for other trains, buses and light rail services), The Felix Hotel was what I was looking for. If you’re only staying in Sydney for a brief period, this hotel is quite affordable and is also a short 10-minute walk to the Sydney Domestic Airport. What I love about The Felix Hotel is that its location is somewhat central, its interiors are fairly new and the overall stay is quite unique. It features Sydney’s only hotel rooftop cinema, it’s close to both the Sydney Domestic Airport and Sydney city where you can duck …

Luxury Pet Stay at The Langham, Sydney

Wanting to bring your dog or cat away on a weekender or hotel staycation in Sydney? Look no further as The Langham, Sydney is the one for you – this is honestly one of the best, pet-friendly hotels in Sydney that I’ve experienced so far. From the moment you step into this hotel, you’ll receive more than a simple greeting. The concierge and front desk staff go above-and-beyond to acknowledge you and your pets on arrival and include them in the check-in process. Kenji – my child fur-baby – experienced this first-hand. He travels with us wherever possible and when I’m looking for a place to stay, dog friendly hotels are at the top of my list. When I found out that The Langham, Sydney has a Pampered Pets Program, I wanted to try the 5-star luxury hotel experience as soon as I could. For anyone even interested in considering a getaway with their pet, the main requirement here is that your pet is less than 20kg, with a maximum of two dogs permitted per …

Dog friendly weekend getaway from Sydney: Bowen Mountain, near Kurrajong

Looking for a short trip to unwind?  In search for pet friendly accommodation within close proximity to Sydney’s CBD, I stumbled across this beautiful, architecturally designed home on Airbnb.  Located in the lower Blue Mountains, just off Bells Line of Road and only a 1-hour and 15-minute drive away – your Dadirri home stay awaits. Set on 6-acres, this stay is one of absolute privacy.  The sunrise each morning shimmering through the trees, the sounds of birds rising as they slowly wake, and the calmness of your surroundings whilst you look out to the city skyline in the distance. The boundary of the property dips from the garden edge and cannot be seen, with greenery shielded by the trees and ferns all around. You very rarely hear cars unless it’s your dinner being home delivered for the evening – yes, this was the only time we heard any real noise during our stay. This is the perfect road trip for the weekend, an easy drive from Sydney plus, the added joy of bringing your pet to stay with you …
